Over the last academic year, following feedback from a range of students and staff across the faculties and the School, the Doctoral College has introduced a Guide to Health and Safety, relevant to doctoral students.

The Guide aims to raise awareness of the types of health and safety matters that students need to be aware of whilst carrying out their research and study, and the way that they should be supported by the University. It includes University policy, standards and guidance, available support and the contacts that students should talk to if needed.

As well as information about on campus working and risk assessments, the Guide also outlines a new process for off campus working in which students are now required to notify the Doctoral College when they are away undertaking fieldwork.
