A new special interest research group has been formed by the GW4 WSA, focussing on the theme of Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) and the UN Sustainable Development Goal 6.5. This group was formed off the back of a successful session held around this theme at the GW4 WSA Annual Conference in November 2020. An inaugural meeting was held on 18th January which brought together engineers, bioscientists, socio science and the NGO FRANK Water to explore current research and to set initial priorities for the group.

If you have an interest in this field and wish to participate in the new IWRM Special Interest Group, please contact the WSA.

The GW4 WSA has a number of Special Interest Water Research Groups:

  • Reservoir Management
  • Environmental Sensors: Development, Deployment and Data Transmission
  • Water, Infrastructure and Extreme Events
  • AMR in Freshwater Ecosystems
  • Sustainable Fashion
  • Urban Water Dynamics in Sub-Saharan Africa

These Special Interest Groups exist to bring together academics, practitioners and stakeholders from across the GW4 and beyond to address the key issues affecting the water sector and broader water research today. If you have an interest in these themes, or ideas for new groups, please contact the GW4 WSA.
