Would you like to better develop skills and tools to assess opportunities and negotiate the path to commercialising your research from idea to market?

The Lunch with Enterprise workshops will draw examples from successful spinouts and highlight key resources at the University and other local facilities available.

Researchers across all disciplines who are interested in developing their commercial acumen and expanding their enterprise support network are encouraged to take part. The knowledge and skills gained can be applied to all research areas, particularly those with a technology focus.

The course consists of five independent but interconnecting workshops which can be taken individually or as part of the series. Those who take part in all five workshops will receive a certificate at the end.

The workshops are aimed at research staff, postdocs and doctoral students at the University of Bath. Spaces are also available for support staff who would benefit from learning about research enterprise. Places are limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment!

The workshops will be facilitated by Dr Ben Miles and Dr Maddy Nichols at Spin Up Science, and funded by the UKRI-EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA).

Phil Brown, Head of Technology Transfer in Research and Innovation Services (RIS), says:

These workshops are an ideal opportunity for researchers to develop their skills for taking enterprising ideas to market. I would advise anyone who is considering commercialising their research or setting up a spinout to sign up for this practical training. The new format of workshops will hopefully provide a taster of what’s involved and make them more widely accessible to academics.

If you have an idea for a spinout, or would like to find out how to commercialise your research, please contact a member of the Technology Transfer Team to find out more.
