Avon and Somerset Constabulary issued a statement yesterday evening in relation to their search for Alec Unsgaard, a first year University of Bath student.

Professor Ian White, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bath, has said: “The news from police that they have found a body in the search for Alec is extremely distressing and our thoughts continue to be with his family at this saddest of times. We will continue to assist them in any way we can, and to engage and support all others involved.

“If any of our students have been affected by this news, we urge them to reach out to one of the many sources of support available to them.”
