We use what you tell us in student surveys to continually improve the ways we work with you on Student Voice and respond to your feedback, so you know how your feedback is used.

For example, these are some of the improvements we've made to closing the feedback loop as a result of previous student surveys:

  • we are continuing to implement the ‘Surveys season’ for the first time, so every student can give feedback on their experiences at Bath
  • we've strengthened our approvals process for surveys, so you're not over-surveyed
  • we've created new materials for staff to make sure the feedback you give us gets to the people that can make a change
  • we've launched a new set of web pages that provides guidance on the design and use of student feedback
  • we’ve published guidance so that everyone understands their responsibilities for responding and acting on student feedback
  • all staff running their own surveys are required to close the feedback loop
  • we're working with the Students’ Union to keep you updated on progress through the year on issues raised in the SU’s Top Ten
  • if over 30% of students respond to Online Unit Evaluations (OUEs), unit convenors are reminded to explain to you how student feedback will be used for change
  • we ask all Directors of Study and Directors of Teaching to summarise their departmental student feedback for discussion at Staff / Student Liaison Committees (SSLCs) and Department Learning, Teaching and Quality Committees (D/SLTQCs)
  • we worked with the Students’ Union to introduce action trackers for SSLCs, so you have better sight of how your feedback is actioned
  • we worked with the Students’ Union to run an SSLC focus group, and to create additional training for academic reps about closing the feedback loop with you
  • we're continuing to work closely with the Students' Union to improve student representation
  • the Students' Union has improved training for students reps so they represent you as effectively as possible, and created a new digital tool to help them gather your feedback and tell you know how it's been acted on
  • we now require all academic departments to work with their student reps on action plans based on your survey feedback
  • our Access and Participation Project team have worked to ensure we capture everyone's feedback and that the feedback mechanisms in place are inclusive.

And next year, we’ll be building on this:

  • we are co-writing our first student voice Student Union-University partnership agreement to articulate how we work together and in partnership with our students
  • we are re-writing our University code of practise on student engagement to better reflect the way students want to engage with us
  • we will ensure consistent implementation of our new student engagement code of practice and Student Union-University student voice partnership agreement.

All your feedback in surveys is completely confidential.
