We use what you tell us in student surveys to continually improve the ways we work with you on Student Voice and respond to your feedback, so you know how your feedback is used.
For example, these are some of the improvements we've made to closing the feedback loop as a result of previous student surveys:
- this year we've introduced a ‘Surveys season’ for the first time, so every student can give feedback on their experiences at Bath
- we've created a new approach to mapping and approving surveys, so you're not over-surveyed
- we've identified owners for all student survey data to make sure the feedback you give us gets to the people that can make a change
- we've launched a new set of web pages that provides guidance on the design and use of student feedback
- we’ve published guidance so that everyone understands their responsibilities for responding and acting on student feedback
- all staff running their own surveys are required to close the feedback loop
- we're working with the Students’ Union to keep you updated on progress through the year on issues raised in the SU’s Top Ten
- if over 30% of students respond to Online Unit Evaluations (OUEs), departments are reminded to email you their response reports with how they will make changes in response
- we ask all Directors of Study and Directors of Teaching to summarise their departmental student feedback for discussion at Staff / Student Liaison Committees (SSLCs) and Department Learning, Teaching and Quality Committees (D/SLTQCs)
- we worked with the Students’ Union to introduce action trackers for SSLCs, so you have better sight of how your feedback is actioned
- we worked with the Students’ Union to run an SSLC focus group, and to create additional training for academic reps about closing the feedback loop with you
- we now require all academic departments to work with their student reps on action plans based on your survey feedback.
And next year, we’ll be building on this:
- we're working closely with the Students' Union to improve student representation
- we're working with departments to build student leader communities where you say it matters most
- the Students' Union is improving training for students reps so they represent you as effectively as possible, and creating a new digital tool to help them gather your feedback and tell you know how it's been acted on
- we're adapting our surveys to ensure that data is used better, and adding new digital tools to manage and use the data
- our Access and Participation Project team is working to ensure we capture everyone's feedback.
All your feedback in surveys is completely confidential.
