Dear colleagues,

I would like to thank everyone involved in the successful June Open Days for their hard work, commitment and support of the University.

The event days were incredibly busy with over 22,000 visitors in total and it was wonderful to experience once again the real buzz these events bring to campus. The atmosphere was lively and engaging and I heard many positive comments from prospective students and their families.

Whether you were setting up the campus in the early hours, giving a talk, leading a tour, staffing a stand in the Information Fair or welcoming and helping visitors to campus, I would like to thank you for all you have done. Your help and support is much appreciated.

A great deal of work is involved in ensuring these events run smoothly and I must pay particular tribute to colleagues in facilities services, hospitality and security, the events team and our many student ambassadors - it really is a team effort.

Staff volunteers welcoming guests at information points and talks are absolutely vital to make these events successful. We still need some more staff members for our September Open Day on Saturday 9 September. Please e-mail Lucy Perry if you can join the team.

If you have any feedback about the Open Days, we would be really pleased to hear from you and would ask you to email the events team.

With thanks and best wishes,

Professor Julian Chaudhuri Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education)
