The University of Bath was granted university status by Royal Charter in 1966.

We are now starting to plan how to mark our 60th anniversary in 2026.

Anniversaries are moments to honour our past, celebrate our present and craft our future. For this landmark year, we want to thank our community and many partners, and to celebrate both our home in the wonderful city of Bath and our global connections.

We are bringing together a project team and wider engagement group with representation across the university. Our aim will be to develop a focussed programme, which will be anchored in supporting our strategic priorities and grounded in meaningful collaborations.

Project sponsor Corinne Evans (Exec Director, External Relations) and Sarah Ibbitson (Project Manager) will be working with colleagues in September and October to develop options, which will then be shared with the Vice-Chancellor and University Executive Board for decision.

We will share further updates as plans emerge, but if you have an urgent query, a brilliant idea or an offer of help, we’d love to hear from you on anniversary@bath.ac.uk.
