This appointment strengthens the partnership between the two universities, which emerged from bilateral delegations and student exchange programme supported by Professor Colin Grant, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Internationalisation.

Professor Matthew Davidson, Director of our Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies, who recently returned from a visit to Yonsei, said: “We are addressing global research challenges that can only be solved through international cooperation.”

The collaboration is supported by the award of a new International Grant from the Royal Society to facilitate researcher mobility.

In April, Professor Walsh plans to visit Seoul to deliver a postgraduate course on Computational Materials Science, accompanied by PhD student Adam Jackson from the Centre for Doctoral Training in Sustainable Chemical Technologies.
