Professor Bill Durodie from the Department of Politics, Languages & International Studies, collaborated with the University of Oxford on the delivery of a short course for directors and deputy Directors from various departments and districts of the Shanghai provincial government.

Well received by the delegates, Bill's sessions covered a range of topics including the social governance of urban areas, the politics of recycling ,and the relationship between security, science and society.

He went on to give a talk on crisis communication at CELAP (the China Executive Leadership Academy, Pudong), the national party school in Shanghai, where his three-year term as a Visiting Professor was renewed last year.

Finally, Bill met colleagues from the School of Public Affairs of Zhejiang University (a strategic partner of the University of Bath) to discuss the development of a future MA in Global Affairs, as well as to give a lecture to students on what China needs to know about Brexit.
