The LGBTQ+ University Self-Assessment Team (LGBTQ+-USAT) will be led by Dr Catherine Butler, the University’s LGBTQ+ Institutional lead. We are seeking staff and students to form a team to review and develop the University’s work, celebration and support of our LGBTQ+ members. We need passionate team players to help make this happen.
LGBTQ+-USAT will meet every two months in the first year, with additional sub-group meetings as required. Two weeks’ notice of meetings will normally be given. Meetings will be held during core hours 10am to 4pm and will normally not last more than one hour.
We are particularly seeking:
- LGBTQ+ staff and students representing a balance of subgroups within the LGBTQ+ umbrella.
- Representatives from each Faculty and the School, key central Departments (Admissions, Outreach, Student Support and Safeguarding) and student body/Student Union
- Individuals with knowledge, skills, and experience in advancing LGBTQ+ equity
- A balance of professional and support staff and academics, people at different grades, contract types (PT/FT, fixed/permanent) within the institution
- Senior management
- Data expert
Academics receive a 20-hour workload allocation for their work on LGBTQ+-USAT. Student team members will receive a gift voucher each year of their participation, and all the LGBTQ+-USAT will receive a certificate of recognition for their work.
