For our mental health and wellbeing, it is recognised that it is important that we acknowledge and grieve our losses.

The No Kidding Support Group helps to support this for those who are childless not by choice, by providing an opportunity to speak about your own experiences (if you wish to) and to talk with or to listen to others. You can express your interest in joining this informal group by emailing no-kidding@bath.ac.uk

There is also an opportunity to attend a Silence and Sound creative writing workshop on the afternoon of 25 March, in 2 South.

Some losses seem more acceptable in society to grieve over, for example the death of a parent. However, there are other significant losses such as being childless not by choice that are not so readily recognised, acknowledged or spoken about. This type of grief is called ‘disenfranchised grief.’ This can be an isolating experience, compounded in the workplace by everyday triggers, processes and ways of working.

Please do get in touch if you would like support, by emailing no-kidding@bath.ac.uk or contacting Health Assured, our wellbeing support provider.
