The Inclusive Education Steering Group are developing a new procedure for Making Adjustments to Learning, Teaching and Assessment for students with disabilities, long-term health conditions and specific learning difficulties.

The procedure will be based on a new framework for reasonable adjustments, developed in consultation with academic and professional services colleagues and supported by Senate in June 2025. This framework builds on current good practice, sector guidance and other institutional approaches to inclusive education, underpinned by our key curriculum principle of supporting the diverse needs of learners.

Consultation is already underway with Faculty and School LTQCs, the Directors of Studies/Teaching Forum, the Education Advisory Board, and the Student Experience Advisory Board. However, we are keen to hear from a wider pool of colleagues and encourage anyone involved in delivering or supporting learning, teaching and assessment activities to engage with this consultation process.

What do you need to do?

There are three simple steps:

  1. Watch the 4-minute introductory video from Cassie.

  2. Read the outline of the procedure contents in the PowerPoint slide pack.

  3. Complete the MS Form to submit your feedback to the Steering Group.

Deadline

Please submit your feedback by Monday, 12 January 2026, to help shape this important procedure and ensure your voice is heard.
