I’ve been at the University for seven years. My role involves shooting research films, teaching materials, presentations and live events and general editing as well as audio recording and engineering the TV studio on campus.
What would you most like to achieve while at the University?
To produce films that draw attention beyond the University and in that way promote the amazing work carried out here to the widest possible audiences.
What piece of advice would you like to give to a student?
Don’t look for any items in the Fresh shop before you get in the queue. You’ll pass them all anyway.
Name one thing that makes you feel proud to work at the University of Bath?
The research carried out here can be world-changing and if I play any part in getting it publicised then that’s very satisfying.
What’s the one thing you know now that you wish you’d known when you were younger?
Opal Fruits turn me into a monster. (Since becoming Starburst they no longer have that effect).
**If you could start your own dream business, what would it be?v
Feature film production company.
What’s your favourite book or album and why?
Kafka’s, ‘The Castle’ because it has lost none of its relevance.
When are you happiest?
Travelling. I even like airports.
If you could meet anyone in the world dead or alive who would it be and why?
Right now, I’d say Wayne Coyne, lead singer of The Flaming Lips. I saw them play recently and it was incredible.
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I used to tap dance as a kid.
Tell us your favourite joke.
A man walks into a butcher’s and says, ‘Have you got a sheep’s head?’
And the butcher replies, ‘No it’s just the way I comb my hair.’
