As a former FTSE 100 CEO, entrepreneur himself, and investor with a portfolio of high-growth companies, Stephen has been recognised as the UK’s No. 1 Most Influential Person in Tech500’s Power List.

Stephen has a range of leadership roles. He is Currently Chair at Tech Nation, Chair of the Science & Technology Honours Committee, Board member of the No10 Innovation Fellowships programme, Director at tech company Locum’s Nest, Chair at the Algorithm People, and senior advisor to Blackrock.

He has also worked for the Cabinet Office as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing digital transformation for the UK Government.

Stephen was awarded Mentor of the Year in 2019 and named one of Evening Standard’s Top 3 Business People. Given his wealth of business experience and accolades, Stephen is well informed to speak on such an essential and topical area of interest to our entrepreneurial community.

This builds on his recent engagement with the University following the keynote speech he gave at our inaugural Enterprise Day in 2022.

He graduated from the University of Bath in 1984 with a BSc (Hons) in Business Administration.
