Every student and recent graduate from Bath has a story worth telling. Whether your achievement felt like a small step or a major milestone, your experience can inspire others and help show the many different ways success can take shape in our community.

Who can share a story

Anyone connected to the University of Bath can share their success. We welcome submissions from current students and recent alumni from every background, discipline, and year. Success is personal, varied, and often unexpected, your story could be exactly what someone else needs to hear.

The kind of stories we are looking for

We’re interested in real experiences that show how you explored opportunities, overcame challenges, or discovered something new about yourself or your future. These might include:

  • internships, micro-internships, and placements
  • part-time jobs or paid work that helped you grow
  • volunteering or community engagement
  • extracurricular projects, competitions, or personal initiatives
  • unusual, creative, or unconventional experiences that opened new doors

You do not need to have completed a traditional placement to take part. In fact, we are especially keen to hear from people whose journeys fall outside the usual pathways. Placement students are still very welcome as every story adds value and helps others understand the breadth of possibilities available.

If you choose to share, we’ll ask for a landscape photo to accompany your story. A simple selfie is absolutely fine.

How you can share your story

You can choose the format that feels right for you:

  • write a short post for our blog or
  • take part in a relaxed video interview with a member of the Employability & Student Success team

We’ll support you whichever option you prefer.

How to submit your story

To get started, send an email to employability@bath.ac.uk with the subject line “Student Success Stories”.

In your message, please include a short introduction and a brief outline of the experience you’d like to share. If you have any questions you have about the process, feel free to include those too.

We’ll then get in touch to talk through next steps.

Where your story will be shared

Your story will be featured on the Employability & Student Success blog and the University of Bath Student Success LinkedIn Page.

These platforms help other students and graduates learn from your experience, while also giving you a chance to strengthen your professional presence online.
