As a truly international University, we are committed to attracting, welcoming and supporting staff from across the globe into our community.

Our international staff are an intrinsic and valued part of our community and we recognise the challenges faced by them when relocating to the UK and securing immigration permission to live and work here.

To support staff with the costs of relocation and immigration to both take up and maintain positions at the University, I’m pleased to announce that we will be introducing a new Visa Reimbursement Scheme. This new scheme will launch from 1 August 2022 and will enable new and existing staff to be reimbursed for the cost of their Skilled Worker / Global Talent Visa application fee, Immigration Health Surcharge fee and Indefinite Leave to Remain application fee, where applicable.

In addition to this, the University has also changed its relocation offer so that eligible staff who need to relocate their permanent residence to within daily travelling distance of their University of Bath work location to take up a position here from 1 August 2022 will now be reimbursed the equivalent of 7.5% of annual gross salary upon joining.

It is hoped that these changes will more accurately reflect the financial costs that staff incur when taking up positions at the University and help staff feel supported during their introduction to University of Bath working life.
