Dr Heiko Frenzen joined the School of Management as a Lecturer (Teaching) in June 2020. During his time at Bath, Heiko’s work focused on teaching core marketing units to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. His areas of expertise included strategic marketing, advertising theory and practice and research methods.

Heiko was a valued member of the Marketing, Business & Society Division. He was always keen to work with colleagues to improve the learning experience of students within his Division and the School. Students often commented on enjoying the real-world application of Heiko’s lectures and his approachable and interactive teaching style.

Prior to joining the University of Bath, Heiko completed a PhD in Marketing at Otto Beisheim Graduate School of Management in Germany and worked in a variety of research and teaching-focussed roles in universities in the UK, Germany and the US.

Dr Sarah Glozer, Head of the Marketing, Business & Society Division says, “Heiko had a real enthusiasm for his subject and he was an engaging and knowledgeable educator. He had a rare ability in being able to translate complex academic ideas to students in an accessible way. He will be much missed by students and colleagues across our Division. My thoughts go out to his family and friends”.

Professor Steve Brammer, Dean of the School of Management says, “We are so very sorry to hear of Heiko’s passing. I know that Heiko will be much missed across our community.”

The arrangements for Heiko’s funeral and memorial are currently being organised. We will update colleagues on these details when they are available.
