The University of Bath has submitted a planning application to Bath & North East Somerset Council (B&NES) for the delivery of student accommodation on its Claverton Down campus, comprising approximately 960 bed spaces.

This submission (25/03757/EFUL) follows extensive design reviews, public consultation, and feedback from a wide variety of stakeholders. The University is grateful for the engagement and input it has received from our local community and statutory consultees.

Dr Ghazwa Alwani-Starr, Chief Operating Officer at the University of Bath, said: “This application marks an important step in delivering high-quality accommodation, in line with B&NES Local Plan Policy SB19 and the University's Campus Masterplan.

"Policy SB19 recognises the role that the University plays locally and regionally from a socioeconomic perspective, and the need to 'help secure the future of the institution and manage its growth in associated student accommodation in a way not detrimental to the normal private housing stock and existing communities.'”

The B&NES Planning Committee will be deciding on the application later in the year.
