Climbing two places from last year, Bath has re-entered the top 10 for the first time since 2014. It was also one of only five institutions shortlisted for the category of The Times University of the Year 2021.

This follows rankings of 6th in the UK by the Guardian University Guide 2021 and 9th by the Complete University Guide 2021, placing the University of Bath in the top ten for all three of the UK’s national university league tables.

The University also had an excellent performance on graduate outcomes, being named the leading multi-faculty institution outside of Oxford and Cambridge (ranking 6th overall).

Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Bath, Professor Ian White FREng, said: “I am tremendously proud that Bath has placed 9th in the latest national league table, particularly as it marks a trio of top tens in national university rankings.

“The University has achieved notable recognition for its record in employment and earning prospects for graduates, thanks in part to our well-established placement scheme which ensures wider skills match academic excellence.

“As we approach the new academic term in unprecedented difficult circumstances I am sure this accolade will inspire all in our community at Bath who have worked so hard over a number of years to provide an outstanding learning and teaching environment.”

For specific courses, Architecture at Bath is placed number one in the country, whilst Sports Science is second and Aeronautical Engineering third.

Including these, across 16 disciplines we rank in the top ten according to the latest Good University Guide, including for:

Accounting & Finance (4th); Business Studies (4th); Chemical Engineering (7th); Civil Engineering (5th); Computer Science (8th); Economics (8th); Mechanical Engineering (4th); Pharmacy & Pharmacology (7th); Physics & Astronomy (10th); Politics (9th); Psychology (4th); Social Policy (8th); and Social Work (8th).
