Following their latest ballot, the University and College Union (UCU) has indicated their intention to pursue action short of a strike (ASOS) in the form of a marking and assessment boycott over the coming months.

It is too early to say what the precise impacts of this action will be, and we are rapidly assessing the potential implications for our community with our colleagues and continuing our engagement with the local UCU branch. We aim to update our staff and students with more detail next week following these discussions.

In the meantime, students should continue to work on their assessments and prepare for their Semester 2 exams. Personal tutors or Directors of Studies are available as usual for specific questions.

At the University of Bath, we continue to prioritise the quality of our education, student experience and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues.
