The University has carefully considered the responses received to the statutory consultation undertaken by B&NES in relation to its R7 planning application (25/0357/EFUL).

To address the comments made, it is now proposed that Block 1 is reduced in height to minimise the potential visual impact in views from Bushey Norwood. As a result, the proposed number of beds has reduced from 962 to 926.

The revised scheme design also includes an enhanced landscape scheme and additional information in relation to the proposed building materials and brick detailing.

The details of the revised scheme have been submitted to B&NES who will undertake a further consultation prior to determining the application at its Planning Committee.

In addition, the University submitted a draft Travel Plan with its R7 planning application that sets out its approach to encouraging active travel and the use of public transport to and from the Campus to reduce car use and parking demand.

The Travel Plan will be finalised in agreement with B&NES and includes proposed provision of a Travel Plan Fund to support cycle and public transport improvements and initiatives to help to meet its objectives and targets.

The B&NES Planning Committee will consider the application later this year.
