The Centre for 21st Century Public Health is pleased to welcome Dr Upendra Bhojani from Monday 27 April to Friday 1 May 2026.

Dr Bhojani is Senior Fellow at the Institute of Public Health, Bengaluru, where he leads the Centre for Commercial Determinants of Health (CDOH). His work spans commercial and social determinants of health, health inequities, tobacco and other psychoactive substances, political economy of health, and the historical and colonial roots of contemporary health challenges.

Visiting the centre

As part of his visit, Dr Bhojani will be delivering a Centre seminar on campus on Monday, 27 April at 13:00 PM, followed by an opportunity for wider discussion, offering colleagues the opportunity to engage with his work directly. The presentation will draw on his extensive research and policy engagement in India and beyond, including innovative approaches to building understanding of commercial determinants of health and their implications for public health action.

In addition to his presentation, Dr Bhojani will be meeting with Centre members and colleagues from across the University throughout the week to discuss ongoing research, share ideas, and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
