I am the Head of Natural Sciences, with overall responsibility for undergraduate studies within the Natural Sciences degrees. I would like to welcome you to our Natural Sciences community in the Faculty of Science.
I recognise that moving to university is a major life event and, while most students easily adapt, for some it may be quite challenging. However, support is available for you. Your personal tutor, who you’ll meet during induction, will be there to help you as will the Director of Studies for Years 1 and 2 Dr Albert Bolhuis, the Senior Tutor Dr Susan Crennell and myself, not forgetting our Programme Administrator Paula Gabriel, so please don’t be afraid to approach any of us if you need to.
Your first weeks at university are an important time both academically and socially. We have organised a packed induction week programme for you so that you can familiarise yourself with the Natural Sciences programme, the University and your fellow students.
Full time teaching starts on Monday 1 October – Week 1.
I look forward to meeting you at the end of September.
Dr Paul Snow,
Head of Natural Sciences and Director of Teaching
