Use of Library electronic resources under licence

Library general statement on the use of licensed online resources.

Code Of Practice

The Library licenses electronic resources on behalf of, and for the benefit of, the academic activities of the University community. You are each responsible for using these resources in a way that complies with their licence terms. This means using them for the purposes of teaching, research or study.

The systematic downloading of large numbers of journal articles or other database content is not permitted, neither is use of these resources for any commercial application. However, use for other purposes could become permissible through agreeing an extension to the licence with the service provider. Please contact the Library if you would like to use our resources for anything other than teaching, research or study.

Note that any failure to observe the requirements of a licence, or its terms of use, could jeopardise access for the whole University community. In accessing resources, please also refer to the University’s IT Acceptable Use Policy
