Modern languages

Undergraduate courses starting in 2024

Languages are passports to life, enabling you to become a global citizen. You’ll foster communication and broaden your knowledge of cultures and perspectives.

Communication skills lie at the heart of every language course. Learning a language, whether at beginner (ab initio) or at an advanced level, will involve developing language learning as well as cultural understanding.

We have expertise on the present issues facing Europe and beyond. You will study the culture and explore the history and values of your countries of study.

You’ll explore how to communicate across cultures. In today’s globalised and competitive employment market, languages and intercultural communication are transferable skills applicable to a wide variety of careers.

Our graduates work in very diverse sectors including the civil service fast-track, marketing and advertising agencies, the private sector, translation and interpretation services, international organisations, education, and journalism.
