About the workshop

Planning and completing your doctorate is key to success in your career as a researcher. For most researchers, delivering upon the plans they have is a challenge in project management for which they are given little or no formal preparation yet a small amount of structure can make a big difference to results and effectiveness. This workshop will explore the practicalities of project management from the perspective of a new researcher approaching their PhD. It does not teach any particular project management model but explores practical ways of making projects work and the importance of identifying goals and milestones, assessing risks, monitoring progress etc.
