The School of Management looks forward to welcoming academics and industry practitioners at all stages of their career to the 10th annual meeting of the EURO working group on Vehicle Routing and Logistics optimization (VeRoLog).
This conference offers a forum to present and discuss developments in the field.
In addition to the main conference, we will be hosting a PhD school on Friday 3, Saturday 4 and Monday 6 July.
Important deadlines
- Abstract submission: 23 February
- Notification acceptance: 9 March
- Early registration: 30 March
- Late registration: 4 May presenting/ 8 June non-presenting
- Accompanying person: 8 June
Abstract submission
Abstracts can be submitted starting from the 16th of December 2025 on the VeRoLog website.
Submissions should include a title, an abstract (maximum 300 words), the names of the authors (including the presenting author) and their affiliations. Each participant can present only one abstract contribution during the event.
The abstract submission should also indicate the relevant contents from, but not limited to, the following categories:
- Models and problems: VRPs variants, dynamic VRPs, freight transportation and distribution, parcel delivery, attended delivery, VRPs with unmanned vehicles, vehicle and ride sharing, dial a ride, workforce routing and scheduling, electric vehicles, integrated VRPs, VRPs with network driver or request specificities.
- Topics and applications: E-commerce logistics, last-mile logistics, healthcare transportation, city logistics, green and environmental aspects, fairness and social sustainability, autonomous driving problems, Internet of Things and sensor-based applications, mobility as a service, reverse logistics and circularity, intralogistics and industrial applications.
- Methodologies and approaches: Integer and linear programming, exact solution methods, meta and hyper heuristics, machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms, big data and analytics.
VeRoLog 2026 Doctoral Dissertation Prize
The VeRoLog Doctoral Dissertation Prize is issued by the VeRoLog and is awarded at the conference.
The purpose of the prize is to distinguish an outstanding PhD thesis on Operational Research methods applied to Vehicle Routing and Logistics Optimization. All the information can be found on this webpage.
OMEGA VeRoLog Special Issue
The VeRoLog Conference invites participants to submit a full-length article to the OMEGA VeRoLog Special Issue. The Special Issue will be edited by Dr. Roberto Roberti and Dr. Diego Cattaruzza. The deadline for manuscript submission is 30 September 2026. Further information is available at the Omega webpage.

PhD school
Friday 3, Saturday 4 and Monday 6 July 2026
The goal of this pre-conference workshop is to provide PhD students and post-docs interested in applying and developing operations research and mathematical optimization techniques to solve decision-making problems arising in different applications (such as vehicle routing, logistics, supply chain management, transportation, etc.) with the basics of some key methodologies.
PhD school teachers
- Dr Diego Cataruzza (University of Udine)
- Professor David Pisinger (Technical University of Denmark)
- Dr Roberto Roberti (University of Padova)
- Professor Anand Subramanian (Federal University of Paraíba)
Preliminary PhD school programme
Metaheuristic Algorithms for Routing and Logistics
- Friday morning: 'Classical Heuristics for Vehicle Routing and Basics of Metaheuristic Optimization' (Diego Cataruzza)
- Friday afternoon: 'Iterated Local Search' (Anand Subramanian)
- Saturday morning: 'Large Neighbourhood Search and Adaptive L Large Neighbourhood Search' (David Pisinger)
