University of Bath

Make a nomination for the Staff Recognition Awards

The awards recognise members of the University's professional services or support staff who have demonstrated excellence in their work.

Award categories

You can nominate members of the University's professional services or support staff for awards in the following four categories:

  • enhancing the student experience
  • excellent customer service
  • making a difference in the local community
  • supporting colleagues

In 2019 we added the Award for Making a Difference in the Local Community. This award acknowledges the valuable charitable work that many staff members engage in outside the University.

Award for Overall Excellence

You can't nominate someone for this category. The award will be made at the discretion of the selection committee to an individual, or a team, nominated in any of the award categories, considered to be truly outstanding.

Making a nomination

You can make a nomination if you are a student or member of staff, either individually or as a group.

Your nomination should include examples of how your nominated individual, or team, has shown excellence in their work and contributed to the broader life of the University.

Who you can nominate

You can nominate:

  • any current team or member of staff from a professional or support service
  • yourself or your own team

You can't nominate academic staff for an award.

When you can make nominations

Nominations for the Staff Recognition Awards 2019 are now closed.

How to make a nomination

The easiest way to nominate is online.

You can nominate an individual member of staff or a team by completing the online form.

On Paper

If you prefer, you can download and print out a nomination form.

Alternatively, you can collect a nomination form from HR Reception, 3.22, Third Floor, Wessex House.

How the winners are selected and notified

The selection committee, made up of people from across the University, will meet in May 2019 to review all the nominations and select winners in each category.

After the committee has made their decisions, award winners will get a letter to tell them they have won. We will then publish the names of all nominees and winners online.

When the awards are presented

Awards will be presented by the Vice-Chancellor at the annual Staff Recognition Evening on Tuesday 25 June 2019.
