We currently have two AKTA purification instruments available to book, an AKTA Go and an older AKTA FPLC. These can be booked by users as a package to include use of all buffers, columns, reagents and SDS-PAGE analysis, or booked for use of the AKTA only, with users providing reagents and columns.
Training is available and must be undertaken before users are able to book to use these instruments themselves.
Purifications can also be run as a service by the Biotech Suite technical team. Please contact the team for details.
This instrument can run a single column with four inlet pumps. It also has a sample loading pump for easy loading of larger sample volumes. Methods are available for each column, or individual runs can be controlled manually. For smaller sample volumes (up to 5 ml) a variety of sample loading loops are available.
This instrument can run a single column and has two buffer chambers. It does not have a sample loading pump, but samples of up to 150 ml can be loaded using a super loop. This can also be run manually or using pre-programmed methods.
