Bus services you can take to and from the University's Claverton Down campus.

Travelling to campus safely

We recommend that you continue to take care when travelling, such as wearing a face-covering if you have one with you and making sure to sanitise your hands.

University bus services

Bath Unibus

The First West of England Bath Unibus service runs between Bath and the University campus. The Unibus services are:

  • the U1
  • the U2

Service 22

First service 22 runs a route between Southdown and the University of Bath campus via Odd Down and Combe Down.

The Big Lemon service 20 runs a route between Twerton and the University of Bath campus via the city centre.

Bus stops in Bath

Check the First West of England timetables and route maps, and the Big Lemon timetable and route map for bus stop locations and service times.

You can also use bustimes.org to search all bus timetables and track buses.

U1 service

Bath Unibus Service U1 will take you between the University of Bath, the City Centre and Oldfield Park. It runs 24 hours a day from Monday to Saturday and from 4.16am to 12.22am on Sundays. At peak times, buses leave about every five minutes.

The U1 service stops at:

  • Arrivals Square
  • Dorchester Street
  • St James Cemetery
  • Hayesfield School
  • Green Park

U2 service (term time only)

The U2 takes you directly from Oldfield Park to the University and back again.

The U2 service stops at:

  • Oldfield Park
  • Bathwick Hill
  • Arrivals Square

Service 20

This service runs every hour from Monday to Saturday.

Service 20 stops at:

  • University of Bath, Sports Village
  • Widcombe Hill
  • Weston Park
  • Oldfield Park
  • Twerton, Wedgwood Road

Service 22

This service runs approximately every 60 minutes from Monday to Friday during term time.

Service 22 stops at:

  • University of Bath, Sports Village
  • Odd Down, Sainsbury’s
  • Southdown, Southdown Avenue
  • Southdown, Wedmore Park

Campus bus stops

You can catch all Bath Uni Bus services from the campus bus terminus on Convocation Avenue.

There is also a bus stop at the junction of Norwood Avenue and The Avenue, close to the Sports Training Village.

Discounted tickets

First Bus discount

If you're a student or a member of staff with a valid ID, you can get up to 10% discount on First bus tickets. The discount applies to tickets purchased on the First Bus App, or using Tap On, Tap Off on services U1, U2 and U5.

Use Tap On, Tap Off to get the best value ticket over a seven-day period.

Examples of ID you can use are:

  • Bath student ID
  • verified Student Beans ID
  • TOTUM ID
  • UNIDAYS ID

You must show your valid ID on every journey to get your discount.

First Bus app

Download the free First Bus app to:

  • plan your journey door to door
  • track your bus
  • see how many seats are available
  • see if the wheelchair space is available
  • buy and use bus tickets (mTickets)

If you're a member of University staff, you can get discounts on Term or Uni Year tickets by going through the Student Travel section in the Bath travel area of the app.
