Bus services you can take to and from the University's Claverton Down campus.

Travelling to campus safely

We recommend that you continue to take care when travelling, such as wearing a face-covering if you have one with you and making sure to sanitise your hands.

University bus services

Bath Unibus

The First West of England Bath Unibus service runs between Bath and the University campus. The Unibus services are:

  • the U1
  • the U2
  • Service 20

Abus Service 22 runs a route between Twerton, Combe Down, and the University campus.

U1 service

Bath Unibus Service U1 will take you between the University of Bath, the City Centre and Oldfield Park. It runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week and there is a bus up to every five minutes during the day.

  • St James Cemetery
  • Hayesfield School
  • Green Park

U2 service (term time only)

The U2 takes you directly from Oldfield Park to the University and back again.

  • Bathwick Hill
  • University of Bath

Service 20

This service runs approximately every 30 minutes from Monday to Friday and every 60 minutes on Saturday.

20 Stops:

  • University of Bath, Sports Village
  • Widcombe Hill
  • Weston Park
  • Oldfield Park
  • Twerton, Wedgwood Road

Service 22

This service runs approximately every 60 minutes from Monday to Friday.

22 Stops:

  • University of Bath, Sports Village
  • Odd Down, Sainsbury’s
  • Twerton, Wedgwood Road

Campus bus stops

You can catch all Bath Uni Bus services from the campus bus terminus on Convocation Avenue.

There is also a bus stop at the junction of Norwood Avenue and The Avenue, close to the Sports Training Village.

Discounted tickets

First Bus discount

If you're a student or a member of staff with a valid ID, you can get up to 20% discount on First bus tickets.

Examples of ID you can use are:

  • valid NUS cards
  • University ID cards
  • international student ID cards

You must show your valid ID on every journey to get your discount.

Birthday Bus Pass

You can apply for a Birthday Bus Pass from Travelwest if you live in:

  • Bath and North East Somerset
  • Bristol
  • North Somerset
  • South Gloucestershire

This pass will allow you to travel on most West of England buses for free for the whole of your birthday month.

The scheme is running from 1 August 2023 until 1 August 2024.

If you're a member of University staff, you can get discounts by going through the student travel section in the Bath travel area of the app.
