Travelling to campus during COVID-19 restrictions
While COVID-19 restrictions are in place, please think carefully about whether you need to come to campus.
If you do need to come to campus, walk or cycle if you can.

Travelling by bus during COVID-19 restrictions
Only take the bus to campus if you can't get here by walking or cycling.
If you have to travel by bus, remember to follow the government's guidelines on social distancing and face coverings in queues and on buses.
You must wear a face covering on all public transport in England.
Bath Unibus
The Bath Unibus service runs between Bath and the University campus. The Unibus services are:
- the U1
- the U3
- Service 20a
- Service 20c
First Bus has temporarily suspended the U3 service between Oldfield Park and the University. If passenger numbers increase, the service will resume.
The U2 service has been replaced with the 20a and 20c services.

Bus stops
Bus stops in Bath
Check the timetables and route maps for bus stop locations and service times.
U1 service
Bath Unibus U1 runs from early until late during term time.
From 7am to 7pm, you can catch the bus about every ten minutes from:
- Green Park
- Corn Street
- Dorchester Street (next to the train station)
- Grand Parade
- The Pavilion
- Bathwick Hill
After 7pm, the U1 bus runs every ten minutes until 11.30pm and extends to Oldfield Park, which means you can also catch the bus from:
- St James Cemetery
- Lorne Road
- Lower Oldfield Park
U3 service
First Bus has temporarily suspended the U3 service between Oldfield Park and the University. If passenger numbers increase, the service will resume.
The U1 route operates all day between Oldfield Park and the University, with a frequent service via the city centre. At peak times, a bus runs every 8 minutes.
If you normally board the bus in Widcombe, you need to catch the U1 service from an alternative stop.
Services 20a and 20c
Services 20a and 20c run about every 30 minutes from Monday to Friday and every 60 minutes on Saturday, stopping at:
- Combe Down
- Odd Down
- Southdown
- Twerton
Campus bus stops
You can catch all Bath Uni Bus services from the campus bus terminus on Convocation Avenue.
There is also a bus stop at the junction of Norwood Avenue and The Avenue, close to the Sports Training Village.
Discounted tickets
If you're a student or a member of staff with a valid ID, you can can get up to 30% discount on First bus tickets.
Examples of ID you can use are:
- valid NUS cards
- University ID cards
- international student ID cards
You must show your valid ID on every journey to get your discount.

If you're a member of University staff, you can get discounts by going through the student travel section in the Bath travel area of the app.
