Vertically Integrated Project - Environment Leaders Programme

VIPs create sustainable, research-engaged communities of staff and students - both undergraduate and postgraduate - who work collaboratively on live projects.

Join us in shaping the future of our campus through a pioneering biodiversity audit and action plan. This Vertically Integrated Project offers you the opportunity to contribute directly to sustainability on campus while also gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

As part of the project, you will work towards the Level 3 Environmental Leaders Programme, a certification awarded by the Leadership Skills Foundation and sponsored by the RSPB and WWF. The University of Bath is the first university in the UK to partner with the Foundation, making this a unique and sector-leading opportunity.

Over the year, you will decide with your team which aspect of the biodiversity audit and action plan to develop, and you will take real steps towards positive environmental change. The project runs for the full academic year to allow time to complete the certification.

You do not need prior knowledge of biodiversity - what matters is your enthusiasm and the skills you bring. We welcome students from all disciplines, whether you are interested in science, business, design, communication, policy, or beyond.

By the end of the project, you will not only have made a tangible impact on campus sustainability but will also have enhanced your leadership skills, project experience and employability with a recognised qualification.

There is a video here to give more of a feel of how the qualification works.
