We are looking for a talented Marketing Officer to join us on a fixed-term basis (12 months).
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a strategically important project and then support our wider marketing activities.
About the Role
This is a dynamic time to join as we roll out recommendations from our recent Education Portfolio Review. Your initial focus will be on portfolio development work, which will involve:
- Researching competitor courses and assessing their positioning relative to ours
- Identifying key messaging and differentiation opportunities
- Preparing marketing reviews and action plans to inform future activity
This work requires strong analytical skills and an understanding of marketing strategy and portfolio development. While there is a general framework to draw on, each project will have a different emphasis and may require building a bank of insights to inform our strategy. You will need to apply independent thinking and judgment on how to tackle the required analysis, with support and guidance from the Faculty’s Head of Product and Business Development. This is a fixed piece of work, working with a small group of stakeholders, and is anticipated to take a few months to deliver.
Once this phase is complete, you will transition to support the Faculty Marketing Team where you will contribute to campaigns, help with content planning, and support other key recruitment initiatives. This work is fast-paced, and you will be confident working with a range of stakeholders at different levels, both within the Faculty and with colleagues in other faculties and central teams including recruitment and marketing. You will join a team that takes pride in building strong working relationships, developing new initiatives, and delivering results.
Because of the dual nature of the role, we are looking for a strong all-round marketer who can combine strategic thinking with practical delivery.
You should also have excellent organisational skills, be a good team player, and be able to successfully manage your workload as well as stakeholder expectations.
- Formal marketing qualification (CIM or equivalent) or strong evidence of marketing training
- Experience in marketing strategy and portfolio development, including competitor analysis and product positioning
- Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Curious, proactive, and comfortable working independently
Why Join Us?
You’ll be part of a collaborative team in a dynamic environment, with the chance to shape our course portfolio and influence future marketing strategies.
This is a full-time, fixed-term post (for 12 months), but applications are also welcomed from candidates seeking a 0.8 FTE (29.2 hours per week) role.
