We are looking for a Head of Learning and Teaching who will champion and nurture academic innovation and good practice in learning and teaching at the University.

If you have the vision, drive and commitment to high-quality learning and teaching, and the skills to inspire, collaborate and work in partnership with our colleagues, we would love to hear from you!

About the role

In order to maintain Bath's reputation for teaching quality and enhancement (the University has achieved a Gold TEF Award and high rankings in many student-facing surveys) there is a need to continually refresh and consider new forms of learning and teaching (e.g. Blended learning approaches), support the most valuable, and provide guidance for staff as they adopt them.

This is an opportunity for a leader who can bring a track-record of leading change and driving innovation in learning and teaching. As part of the role you will oversee;

  • the teams responsible for course and curriculum design (Curriculum Development)
  • development of academic and professional services staff who teach (Academic Staff Development)
  • engagement work with students and the University Community (Student Engagement)

You will also work alongside the Head of Technology Enhanced learning to rethink and refresh ways of teaching as aligned to the University’s commitment to blended delivery (The Bath Blend), and how the CLT recognises, shares and showcases good practice, both internally and externally.

About you

We are looking for someone to bring new ideas to excite and enthuse our staff and students, and the skills and experience to make a real and lasting difference. You will need to be committed to working strategically and collaboratively in order to excel in the role. Our ideal applicant will have significant experience and relevant knowledge of leadership in learning and teaching in Higher Education context.
