The BRE Centre for Innovative Construction Materials, based in the Dept. Architecture & Civil Engineering at the University of Bath, wishes to appoint a Full-time Research Associate to work on the EU funded research project Sustainable Bio and Waste Resources for Construction (SB&WRC).

 The SB&WRC project aims develop new thermal insulation products for buildings, made from bio-based agricultural co-products and industrial waste materials. The researcher will directly contribute to development of bio-based prototypes initially at a laboratory scale, and demonstration trials of prototype products at the University of Bath's Building Research Park. The project involves collaboration with partners in the UK and France.

 The Research Associate will join an existing team and will specifically be responsible for conducting laboratory scale research and demonstration monitoring work. The successful applicant is expected to have a background in construction materials, civil engineering, or a related field. They will join a strong research group of academics and researchers investigating innovative construction materials.

 This post is available on a full-time basis (36.5 hours per week). The ideal start date is 1 August 2018, and this post is being offered on a fixed term contract basis, with an anticipated expiry date of 30 September 2019.
