Role

  • I offer one-to-one information, advice, and guidance for students and graduates on all things careers-related
  • I am the lead consultant for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
  • I provide group workshops and webinars on a variety of careers related topics
  • I provide specialist support to the Gold Scholar students and have a particular interest in working with Widening Participation students

Career

I joined the Careers in 2020 in my current role, I was on boarded remotely and worked entirely remotely for the first few months, which was very strange! Before joining the university, I have worked in many roles and settings in careers guidance and pastoral support including numerous schools, further education colleges, a sixth form college and lots of community settings. Before I trained as a Careers Consultant, I worked in several marketing roles, worked and travelled my way around the world, and volunteered as a mentor.

I get great pleasure from helping students who are feeling lost and confused, suddenly see a clearer way forward, and from helping to give them the self-belief that they can go for it and achieve what they’re aiming for.

Out of work, I enjoy lots of things. I’ve recently learnt to surf, which is so much fun and I’m now obsessed! I also sing in a choir, practice yoga and go running. I love nature too, so enjoy adventures in our camper van, walking and wild swimming.

Education

I have a post graduate diploma in Careers Guidance, as well as a degree in Marketing and Human Resource Management
