Liz leads on the delivery of support for staff in course design and development
Role
As the Curriculum and Academic Development Lead for Course Design and Development, Liz oversees support for staff planning course-wide curriculum design and review and the development of units and individual teaching sessions. Liz also works with colleagues to develop their teaching, assessments and feedback, as well as encouraging creative, authentic and inclusive teaching design and delivery.
Career
Liz originally qualified as a secondary teacher, spending 20 years teaching students alongside supporting staff development as a Head of Faculty, Head of Careers and Assistant Head Teacher. In addition, Liz worked for an international A Level exam board, playing a lead role in assessment design, quality assurance and standardisation.
Liz moved into Higher Education to work in widening participation and access, before joining the Centre for Learning and Teaching.
