Robert manages the Curriculum and Academic Development team in the Centre for Learning and Teaching
Role
The Curriculum and Academic Development team work with staff across the University to support innovation and enhancement in curriculum and assessment development, learning design, and professional development and recognition for staff who teach and support teaching.
Career
Robert’s academic background and interests in education stem from initial training as a primary teacher, before moving into the area of political sociology, with his PhD examining the nature of UK education policy reform under the New Labour government. After completing his doctorate, Robert worked at Durham University with roles in Access and Widening Participation, curriculum development, and a range of policy areas. He was also a pastoral tutor at St Chad's College. Robert joined the Centre for Learning & Teaching at Bath in September 2017. He is also a member of the International Centre for Higher Education Management, contributing to teaching and supervision on the DBA course.
