Career

I have considerable experience in HE careers and professional development, having worked at Warwick, Edinburgh and now Bath in a series of leadership and practitioner roles. My journey started as a Careers Consultant specialising in PGR and ECR career development but have been fortunate to work with students from all cohorts, backgrounds and disciplines over the years.

During my time in HE careers, I have held a number of voluntary roles in AGCAS working groups, including the PG task Group, AGCAS Scotland Professional Practice and most recently, Academic Alignment. Not only is this a great way to keep pace with change, but also share ideas and good practice.

Outside of work, I love cycling, reading (GoodReads is my ‘go to’ site) and have just got into podcasts – “The Rest is History”, has me hooked.

Education

I have a degree in History from Durham and loved it so much I did another year at Bristol, where I completed an MA in Contemporary History. I am qualified in MBTI (although on the fence as to its merits!), Occupational Testing and Strengths – although haven’t used any of them in a long while….
