Shan Bradley-Cong Evidence and Evaluation Coordinator
Working with academic and research support staff to evidence and evaluate the impact of their research.
Role
Shan works closely with the Head of Research Policy and Information and the Research Impact Manager to support researchers across the University with their Research Impact. This support includes:
- planning for impact
- identifying and tracking research impact
- evidencing, recording and reporting on our impact
- sharing stories of our Research Impact
- training and development
He is responsible for supporting our reporting to key assessment exercises, including the Research Excellence Framework (REF), Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF), and Higher Education Business and Community Interactions Survey (HEBCIS).
Shan is also involved in piloting and testing new approaches to achieve impact and helping to coordinate the activities of the University’s Impact Operations Group and Impact Directors Forum.
Career
Shan has worked as a Project Manager for many years, managing multi-million pounds research projects and various cross-disciplinary research centres. His experience and expertise include international mobility and recruitment, admissions, research placement, research collaboration, and research event and network. He has also worked closely with the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Bloomberg Philanthropy, the University of Bristol and the University of Exeter. Shan is interested in environmental science and internationalisation in an HE setting. He is a keen language learner and can speak English, Chinese and Spanish.
Education
Shan is a qualified PRINCE2 Practitioner for project management. He has an MPhil in Renewable Energy and Storage from the University of Bath, and an MEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the Shandong University, China.
