James Arthur Head of Registry Services

Role

James has over 20 years of experience in Higher Education. As Head of Registry Services within Academic Registry he leads with a focus on person-centred service design and systems thinking. His role encompasses a range of education lifecycle services, ensuring operations align with the University's strategic direction and the needs of students and staff.

As a coach, James offers a calm, reflective space for clients to make sense of their current challenges, reconnect with what matters most, and explore new ways forward. His approach is grounded in deep listening and an interest in the stories we live and lead by.

James is particularly interested in how people grow through change and how identity, values and meaning shape our professional lives.

Career

James is a senior manager within Academic Registry, responsible for service design and delivery across a range of core education lifecycle services.

With a background in data analysis in local government, James moved into the Higher Education sector in 2002. James has held key positions in Academic Registry at Bath leading student and staff-facing services such as timetabling, exams and graduation as well as providing student systems expertise, data analysis and reporting.
