Career

Christel has been working at the University of Bath for approx. six years. Through a variety of teaching, leadership, and administrative roles, she has developed a strong understanding of how the University operates, as well as the opportunities and challenges that staff and students may encounter.

Christel's earlier research primarily focused on Comparative psychology, where she studied our closest living relatives, including bonobos, chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans. In recent years, her research has become increasingly human-focused, exploring the professional wellbeing of practitioners working in the homelessness sector, an area of work known to be emotionally demanding and challenging.

She is currently undertaking the Level 5 Coaching Professional Apprenticeship and looks forward to further developing her coaching skills, learning from the experiences of others, and supporting colleagues as they navigate challenges and opportunities in their professional and wider lives.
