James Lambdon Lecturer in Sport and Performance Psychology
Member of the University of Bath internal coaching network.
Role
James has been a Registered Practitioner Psychologist with The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and a Chartered Sport and Exercise Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) since 2016. He has extensive experience of supporting people to perform and pursue their goals within sporting, performance, educational, and corporate settings.
Research
Specific areas of interest in relation to coaching:
- Dealing with stress and managing burnout.
- Rest and self-care to support performance.
- Enhancing leadership skill/s and confidence.
- Preparing for, negotiating, and learning from transition/s.
- Using adaptability to deal with complex and dynamic environments.
- Enhancing acceptance, commitment, and mindfulness.
Career
James holds two roles at the University. He Lectures in Sport and Performance Psychology within the Department for Health and practises as an Applied Sport Psychologist for TeamBath. He has been at the University since 2015.

- Member of both the BPS Divisions of Coaching Psychology and Division of Sport and Exercise Psychology (DSEP)
- Accredited supervisor on the BPS Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS).
