Role

Emma works with the Head of Research Funding to provide leadership and management of the Pre-Award team. This involves:

• providing operational oversight of the application support and system use provided by the Pre-Award team to the academic community
• setting the service standards and developing service provision
• assisting with the quality assurance and approval of research funding proposals
• ensuring proposals have the relevant departmental and ethical approvals including peer view where necessary
• advising academic and professional service staff on University and funder policy and procedures
• increasing the quantity of successful research proposals at the University through embedding good practice

Emma also works closely with the Due Diligence and Compliance Manager in the team regarding governmental assurance and the Research Development, Contracts and Post-Award teams in RIS.
