Mrs Ruth Foreman Pro-Chancellor

Pro-Chancellors play a key role in the institution but do not become involved in day-to-day executive management.

Career

Having previously had her own accountancy practice and then strategic and tactical planning consultancy, Ruth now devotes her time to various organisations as a trustee, non-executive director and treasurer. All of these roles are an extension of her previous experience in accountancy, management and social impact evaluation.

During her time on Council she has chaired ARAC, served as Interim Chair of Council, Chaired the Governance Review Steering Committee and most recently served as Vice-Chair. Ruth has also been a member of the School of Management Advisory Board. Other current roles are as Chair of Bristol and Bath Regional Capital CIC, through which she is also the Chair of the governing board of City Funds LP, and member of the Finance Committee of St John Ambulance (for whom she is also an Event First Aider, Community Advocate and HR lead for the Bath unit). Through St John Ambulance Ruth has recently been actively involved with NHS patient transfer services associated with the Nightingale Hospital in Bristol.

Treasurer roles for smaller charities include Swift Medics and Batheaston New Village Hall.
