Robert Cooper Public Engagement Officer

Supporting the delivery of activities that support high-quality public engagement with research.

Role

Rob looks after the administration, communications and operational activities of the Public Engagement Unit which works to support a positive culture of public engagement with research.

The Public Engagement Unit’s work operates across four areas:

  • doing public engagement
  • learning about public engagement
  • celebrating public engagement
  • leading on public engagement

Career

Rob has experience working as a public engagement practitioner at Bristol Museum and in a supportive role at the University of Bristol and the University of Bath. This has involved working with researchers from a wide variety of disciplines to help them engage public groups with their research in a way that is mutually beneficial to the public(s), research and researcher(s).

Rob carried out his Masters research project at UWE Bristol working with academics from the University of Bath.
