Alison Borgelin SWC Research Coordinator in the Department of Social & Policy Sciences
Staff Wellbeing Champion
Role
My role is Research Coordinator in the Department of Social & Policy Sciences where I support our academic staff with their research activities. I’ve been in SPS for over 20 years, but in my current role only since early 2023. I’ve loved learning more about the important and fascinating research being done in the department.
Wellbeing statement
I am passionate about supporting anyone struggling with poor mental health, and as part of that I feel it’s important to promote good mental health and wellbeing support in everyday life. I believe it’s time to break the taboo and silence around this topic and make it the norm to include it in everyday conversations.
Interests
My big passion is ceramics and I’ve been an on/off potter for over 30 years. Making a pot on the potter’s wheel is very therapeutic and mindful and really slows my mind down. I also love getting out for walks in nature and breaks away in our mini campervan to my other happy place, the seaside.
