Dr Jacob Barker PhD Research Ethics Officer
Responsible for developing training, providing advice and engaging with researchers to ensure that appropriate research ethics standards are embedded.
Role
Jacob is responsible for:
Providing advice and guidance on research governance issues supporting our research ethics framework.
Providing support to the research ethics sub-committees (Social Sciences and Biomedical Sciences Research Ethics Committees).
Supporting the development and implementation of the Ethics@Bath online system.
Delivering training to staff across the university on research ethics processes.
Career
Since graduating with a PhD from the University of Warwick, Jacob has worked as a researcher within the department of Psychology and the Institute of Advanced Study at Warwick. Jacob completed two projects as part of the Enhancing Research Culture Fund to improve research culture for postdoctoral researchers.
Education
Jacob holds a PhD in Psychology, an MSc in Psychological Research, and an MA in Social Science Research from the University of Warwick.
