Role
Rinki joined the Research Software Engineering (RSE) team in October 2025 from the Faculty of Engineering & Design.
Her specialities are in AI and Machine Learning, with programming experience in Python, Java, MATLAB, and some C++.

Career
Rinki started her career as a software developer, working on microservices, batch processing systems, and data pipelines. During her MSc she moved into research, working on Multi-Agent Path Finding and applied Machine Learning, including natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning. She then joined the University of Bath as an AI & Systems Developer, working with researchers and students to integrate machine learning into their engineering projects. She has since moved into her current role as a Research Software Engineer.
Education
Rinki graduated MSc in AI from Royal Holloway in 2023. She is currently pursuing part time PhD in the Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering. Her current research area is applying machine learning to lung tomography.
