Dr Mike Rose Research Strategy Business Partner
Mike supports the delivery of research strategy implementation plans, with a focus on grant capture.
Role
Mike is the Research Strategy Business Partner for the School of Management, working with the Head of Research Development, the School Research Office and Associate Dean for Research. He is based in Research and Innovation Services (RIS) supporting the University’s strategy and ambitions for research. His work includes:
- supporting the delivery of the School’s Research Strategy implementation plans
- scanning research funding for opportunities relevant to the School
- connecting the School with key colleagues in RIS to drive up success rates for grant bidding activity
- embedding peer review of grants and other research activities
Mike works collaboratively with the Research Development Managers in the team to identify and develop opportunities for research funding.
Career
Mike has a diverse background founded in research and researcher development, as well as academic publishing and outreach. He has worked for the universities of Warwick, Exeter and UCA, and before joining RIS at Bath was Researcher Development Officer in the Doctoral College, University of Surrey.
Education
Following a PhD from Exeter on Wittgenstein, literature and the inexpressible, Mike has published on philosophy, digital education and early modern intellectual history. He also holds an MA in Writing, MA and BA in philosophy, all from Warwick. He recently obtained a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
